Note:

Limit is one per person until March 16, individuals may get an additional plot after this date.
Community Garden Policies
1. All garden plots are 20’ x 20’ and will be marked in the corners of the plot with a small flag. A 3’ path will be around each garden plot, maintained by Township PW staff.

2. There shall be no parking on Hobson Road to access the Community Garden Plots. All parking will be in Community Park parking lot.

3. All lessees shall stay within the bounds of East Lampeter Community Park.

4. The three foot (3’) path around each garden plot shall not be used for gardening. All plants shall be kept out of the path.

5. No fencing or fence products shall be permitted. Tomato cages and stakes may only be used in garden plot for the purpose of supporting vegetables.

6. Annual flowers and vegetables are to be grown in the plot, no perennial plantings of any kind shall be permitted.

7. No external material or applications may be applied to the soil or plants, including, but not limited to herbicide, pesticide, raw manure, insecticides, fungicides, grass clippings, mulch, etc.

8. Water will be available at the faucet on the exterior of the restroom building. Water shall not be wasted. Water shall be turned off after filling containers for garden plots. Water shall not be taken off site.

9. Each lessee of a garden plot is responsible for the upkeep of their garden plot. Garden plots will be periodically inspected by Township staff. If a lessee’s garden plot becomes overrun because of lack of upkeep including excessive weeds, the Township will send one notice to the lessee. The lessee will have one week from date of notice to correct the plot. If the issue is not abated in one week, East Lampeter Township staff will cut the plants and the lessee will be charged for the work. If this happens more than two times in a growing season the lessee will forfeit their plot and shall lose the opportunity to lease a garden plot the following year.

10. If a lessee is going to be away for an extended period of time, the lessee is responsible to find someone to tend to their garden plot and shall notify the Township Recreation Director at 717-393-1567 x3026.

11. Any lessee who is unable to continue gardening during the growing season, should inform the Township Recreation Director at 717-393-1567 x3026.

12. No belongings shall be left behind in the garden plot or with the East Lampeter Township Community Park. All trash shall be placed in appropriate receptacles. All gardening and watering tools shall be taken home after each visit. All weeds shall be placed in designated weed collection area.

13. The Community Garden is located within East Lampeter Township Community Park. All East Lampeter Township park rules apply to the Community Garden area.

14. Once a garden plot is leased, the lessee can garden during normal park hours (dawn to dusk) from April 1 until Nov 1.

15. The lessee is responsible for clearing all plant materials from plot by November 1st.

No-Refund Policy

All registrations and purchases are final. No refunds will be issued for cancellations, no-shows, or early departures. This policy applies regardless of personal circumstances, including scheduling conflicts, illness, or emergencies.

In the event that a program or event is canceled by the organizer, registrants will be notified and offered a credit or refund, at the organizer’s discretion.

By registering for or purchasing a program, you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy.
